Police: Man Shot In Leg Following Parking Lot Altercation

El Paso Police tell ABC-7 a man is recovering after being shot in the leg during a parking lot altercation in northeast El Paso early Sunday morning.

Investigators said officers responded to a ‘shots fired’ call on the 9100 block of Dyer around 2:25 a.m.

Officers said they were unable to find any shooting victims until a call was received from nearby William Beaumont Army Medical Center reporting that a victim with a gun shot wound to his leg was at the hospital.

Investigators said they believe the 31-year-old man, from Borderntown, New Jersey, was standing in a parking lot when an altercation took place between several people.

During that altercation, an unknown suspect pulled out a gun and began firing it, striking the man in the leg, according to police.

Investigators told ABC-7 the victim was taken to the hospital by a witness.

At this time, police have not made any arrests in this case.
