US-Mexico Border Mayors Association Meets At UTEP

More than a dozen mayors from the U.S. and Mexico came together Tuesday afternoon at UTEP for the inaugural U.S.-Mexico Border Mayors Association meeting.

“The whole purpose of this organization is to have border cities speak with one voice,” said El Paso mayor John Cook at a news conference after the meeting.

Cook explained the newly formed association’s top priority is to reduce long wait times at international border crossings without sacrificing security.
