FBI, Texas Rangers investigate shots fired at federal officer, one person in custody

(UPDATE, 8:15 p.m.) - A U.S. Marshal spokesperson confirmed to ABC-7 that an operation was being conducted by the Lonestar Fugitive Task Force. They do confirm injuries were sustained by that team.

The U.S. Marshal spokesperson did tell ABC-7 that one person is in custody.

The scene is now considered contained, with no danger to the public.

The investigation is ongoing, and is being handled by the FBI and Texas Rangers.

SAN ELIZARIO, Texas (KVIA) - Several state and federal law enforcement agencies are investigating a shooting in San Elizario this evening.

FBI and the Texas Rangers are working jointly, said a spokesperson.

It happened about 5 p.m. at the 11800 block of Socorro Rd.

A federal officer was injured and taken to an area hospital for treatment.
