Police Find 10 Pounds Of Marijuana During Traffic Stop

Officers conducting a traffic stop in Northeast El Paso found 10 bricks of marijuana in a plastic bag on the rear floor board of the vehicle shortly after midnight Thursday.

Police said 27-year-old Miguel Dominguez, of the 10200 Shenandoah Street, was driving a white Dodge Durango when he committed a traffic violation as he entered the 8700 block Dyer Sreet from a private parking lot.

Dominguez and the passenger, 33-year-old Omar Castaneda, of the 11800 block of Jim Webb Drive, were arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana over 5 pounds and under 50 pounds. Both men were booked into the El Paso County Jail. Bonds were set at $11,032 for Dominguez and $10,000 for Castaneda.

Police said Dominguez had two outstanding municipal warrants for no insurance and one for speeding.
