Police ID Detective Accused Of Driving Drunk At Fort Bliss

An El Paso Police Department detective who was arrested by Fort Bliss Military Police on Monday evening has been identified.

Fort Bliss military police said Detective Edric Flores, six-year veteran of the El Paso Police Department, was stopped for speeding about 8 p.m. Monday, and he failed to stop his vehicle for military police. Flores, who is assigned to the Northeast Regional Command, was in possession of a firearm when stopped. He was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, evading arrest and unlawful possession of a weapon on federal facility.

Criminal charges will be referred to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. The detective has been placed on administrative leave.
