EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- We are under an ABC-7 First Alert for severe storm risk and flooding today!

A weather alert has been issued by the National Weather Service for El Paso, Doña Ana, Hudspeth, and Otero County:

For your first day of Fall we woke to cooler temps and breezy conditions. This is as a backdoor cold front pushes in! Temps as a result will dip into the 80s leaning a bit cooler than yesterday. El Paso is expected to reach a high of 88, Las Cruces 83.

The larger impact will be storm chances! Rain chances pick up early this afternoon. Rain chances climb tonight up to 70%.
