Family Of Six Displaced By Fire

A family of six will have to spend the night at a hotel instead of their home because of a fire. Fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze at the 7000 block of Heid in the Lower Valley at about 7 Saturday morning.

They’re still investigating how it all started. Fire officials said parents and children who live in the house were evacuated and the Red Cross is assisting. A neighbor of 30 years said she sees the family like relatives and is thankful everyone made it out safe.

“I hope my neighbors are okay, everything else will be repaired but not our lives,” said Maria Luisa Hernandez.

Investigators said the house didn’t have smoke alarms.
