StormTRACK First Alert For Wind Lifted, Cooler Temps Expected Sunday

After a blustery afternoon with peak winds of 51 mph in El Paso and 48mph in Las Cruces, winds will calm tonight.

The ABC-7 StormTRACK Weather Team lifted the First Alert as of 7 p.m. Saturday evening.

Meteorologist Karla Huelga said the system that pushed through not only brought us very windy conditions, but also pushed a cold front through the region.

Expect highs in the mid 60’s on Sunday with breezy conditions in the afternoon and mostly sunny skies.

Monday will be a similar day with highs in the mid 60’s, however, another storm system starts to push in on Monday afternoon and we will once again see a windy day.

Expect gusts to about 45mph on Monday, partly cloudy skies and a 10% chance of showers.

The system will also drop another cold front our way, so Tuesday will be breezy with highs in the mid 60’s.

Wednesday will be sunny with highs around 60 degrees.

Temperatures will rise to the mid 60’s on Thursday and near 70 for Veteran’s Day.

The start to next weekend will see highs in the upper 60’s, mainly sunny skies and windy conditions.
