NMSU Student’s Death Appears Natural

Authorities at New Mexico State University say the death of a 19-year-old student from Albuquerque appears to be the result of a seizure.

University Deputy Chief Stephen Lopez tells the Las Cruces Sun-News that Emily Lein was found in her dorm room on Wednesday.

Her family called police and reported they were not able to contact her.

Lopez says there were no signs of foul play and no evidence anyone else had been in her room before she died.

The Office of Medical Examiner will offer a definitive cause of death after an autopsy is completed.
