Man Killed In Wreck On Gateway East Is Identified

Police are investigating a wreck that left one man dead. It happened at 12:55 a.m. on Gateway East Boulevard near Valley Crest, which is west of Zaragoza Road.

Investigators told ABC-7 that the driver, 22-year-old Alberto Morales, of the 10300 block of Valle De Oro Drive in Socorro, lost control of the SUV and hit a sign, then hit a tow truck. The vehicle ended up in a parking lot of a shopping center. Morales died at the scene.

Police had to block off Gateway East until 7 a.m. while they investigated the wreck.
