DWI Suspect Crashes Into Mother & Daughter

El Paso sheriff’s deputies tell ABC-7 that a 38-year-old man is in custody after a crash involving a woman and her 10-year-old daughter Saturday afternoon.

A sheriff’s office spokeswoman said the collision happened shortly before 4 p.m. on the 7700 block of Doniphan Drive in Vinton.

Deputies said the 31-year-old woman and her daughter were headed south on Doniphan in a brown Ford Explorer when they were hit by the driver of a Honda Accord headed north.

Investigators said the driver of the Accord, identified as Juan Murillo, 38, veered across his lane and into the path of the Explorer.

The mother and daughter were treated for non-life threatening injuries, the sheriff’s spokeswoman said.

A passenger in the Accord, identified only as a man, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to El Paso for treatment.

Investigators said Murillo, who was treated for minor injuries, has been charged with Intoxication Assault.
