Teen Claims Abduction Attempt In West El Paso

Police were called out to a Westside coffee shop after a 15-year-old girl says someone tried to lure her into their car in broad daylight.

Teenager Madison Glass said she and her two friends decided to stop by a Starbucks near Mesa Street and Sunland Park Drive to get some water. That’s when Madison said she was approached by a stranger in his car.

“He came up to me and said, ‘I just got off the phone with your mom and she said that your need a job. I have (a job) at my house, and you can come with we right now’,” said Madison.

“My mother never called the man to ask for a job like he had said,” said Madison’s sister, Raven Glass.

According to Raven neither she, nor anyone in her family, know the man who Madison says approached her. But she recalled that panicked phone call from her little sister.

“She was walking down the road and told me, ‘a man is approaching me, a man is approaching me’,” said Raven.

Raven said she immediately sent her husband to pick up the girls.

“I told my husband, ‘go go go,’ and he took off running to go get them,” said Raven.

An EPPD spokesman said a police report was filed, but no crime was actually committed, just suspicious behavior. But Raven said she can’t help but imagine what could have happened.

“If they were gullible girls and weren’t taught well, then they could’ve been could’ve been killed,” said Raven.

Madison described the man as wearing jeans and a white pinstripe shirt with a pair of sun glasses. An EPPD spokesman said the man’s description was released to officers on patrol.
