Slidshow:Celina Avila Through the Years

Celina Avila says the best thing about growing up in El Paso is being able to experience the border culture and learning to speak two languages.

Celina was born and raised in El Paso. She attended Coronado High School and then NMSU.

While attending college, Celina worked as a reporter/anchor at KRWG, the student-run television station.

Her first broadcasting job was with the KLAQ morning show. Avila then landed an internship at ABC-7 and another one at KTSM. KTSM hired her as a reporter and she later became weekend anchor.

Two years later, Celina walked back through the doors of ABC-7 as reporter and weekend anchor. “I wanted to keep growing as a journalist and thought the number one station would be the place to go.”

You can see Celina Avila reporting and anchoring on ABC-7 @ 4.
