Former El Paso County Judge Anthony Cobos Released From Jail
Former El Paso County Judge Anthony Cobos was released from jail Wednesday evening.
“I’m very anxious to get back to my wife and children,” said Cobos before rushing to meet his ride outside the jail.
Cobos was arrested last Friday and charged with three counts of mail fraud. Federal investigators claim Cobos defrauded taxpayers by taking bribes to rig a lucrative county contract.
Cobos’s attorney Richard Esper said they are ready to defend the charges against his client during trial.
