Expired Vehicle Registration Leads To Cocaine Bust

Officers from the El Paso Police Department said they stopped a man on Friday for having an expired registration, only to find eight baggies of cocaine in the car.

Police said the Honda Prelude was pulled over near the 6000 block of Trans Mountain Road. The front seat passenger, Israel Aguilera, was identified as the owner of the vehicle. Police said Aguilera had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, and further investigation by a K-9 unit found eight baggies of cocaine with a total weight of 4.9 grams.

Aguilera was booked into the El Paso County Jail on possession of controlled substance. The driver of the vehicle had two outstanding warrants and was also taken into custody.
