Man Killed In Hit And Run Incident In Dona Ana County

New Mexico State Police said they are investigating a hit and run incident in Dona Ana County that occurred just before 10 p.m. on Friday evening.

The incident happened on West Picacho Avenue and Shalem Colony Trail across the street from a Pic Quik convenience store.

Officials are describing the victim as a man in his 40s or 50s and either Caucasian or Hispanic. No identification was found with the man.

An investigation revealed that the man was at the convenience store 20 minutes before being hit by an unknown vehicle. Officials said they were unsure if the man was in the road or on the shoulder when he was struck.

Sheriff’s officials are still looking for the car that struck the man.
