El Paso Man Allegedly Bites And Kicks Bus Passengers, Punches Truck Driver

A bus ride turned into a bizarre scene Friday afternoon.

El Paso Police said a 21-year-old Fernando Ureta hopped on a Sun Metro bus Friday afternoon and unleashed an attack on passengers and even the driver.

Investigators said Ureta started getting physical and turned on the driver. The driver pulled over as two concerned passengers stepped in to help Ureta bit one of them on the chest and leg, then he began to kick a 66-year-old woman, according to police.

The strange attack didn’t stop there.

Ureta jumped off of the bus and into the bed of a man’s pickup truck and allegedly punched the man in the face, according to police.

Officers caught up with Ureta behind the Fox Plaza shopping center in south Central El Paso where they tasered him.

The 21-year-old is facing charges of evading arrest, injury to an elderly person and two counts of assault.
