Round The Clock Coverage: Pedestrian Hit By Car, Driver Takes Off
El Paso police are searching for the driver responsible for striking a pedestrian and fleeing the scene.
The incident was reported on Mesa street near the intersection with Brentwood around 2 a.m. Friday.
ABC-7’s Round the Clock crew spoke with the victim, Brandon Halow, who said he was trying to break up a fight outside a bar when he was hit.
Halow described the vehicle as a black Mercedes Compressor with Texas plates. “I was walking on the sidewalk, and a car came and struck me about 20 miles per hour,” Halow said, “I rolled over the hood, the back and landed in the middle of the street.”
Halow told ABC-7 he was almost run over by another car. “My my instinct took over and I dragged myself away with my bad leg and my friends saved me.”
As for his injuries, Harlow suspects his hip may have been injured. He declined to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
