4 teens accused of robbing woman outside LC Walmart

Four Las Cruces teenagers, including a 14-year-old boy, tried but were unsuccessful at robbing a woman Monday in the parking lot of a Walmart, police said

It happened in the 500 block if Walton. Police say the teens tried to grab the woman’s purse but allegedly fled the scene in a car empty-handed.

The woman was thrown onto the ground and sustained minor injuries. She was treated at a local hospital.

The officers who responded interviewed witnesses and reviewed security camera footage. They were able to obtain a vehicle description and license plate from the video and found it in a nearby neighborhood.

Anthony Malone, Richard Swanson and Jacob Dearo, all 17, and 14-year-old Joel Montoya were arrested on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy
