Former UTEP Cheerleader breaks back flip record

A record-breaking moment happened at the University of Texas El Paso game Saturday night, and it didn’t have to do with football.

Jalyessa Walker set out to make the Guiness Book of World Records by doing the most consecutive back flips.

She shattered the previous world record of 35 flips in a row, doing a total of 49 back flips.

The previous record was set by another Texan.

Walker set a goal of 50 back flips, falling short by one.

She was a former UTEP cheerleader, and is now a second lieutenant in the United States Army.
