“Tacos de Perro” In Juarez? Not really! However, the urban legend gets put to the test by ABC-7 reporter Alec Schreck
KVIA ABC-7 reporter Alec Schreck goes into Juarez to put-to-test the “urban legend” that some taco stands in Mexico actually have served “tacos de perro”, or “dog-meat tacos”. Schreck followed up on a story that made national headlines: A Juarez man was arrested for allegedly barbecuing hisneighbor’s dogs. The suspect was later released and the charges were dropped.
Nonetheless, Alec Schreck visited a few taquerias in the city that borders El Paso, Texas to talk first-hand to street vendors about the “urban legend” dealing with “tacos de perro”. It’s a creative, humourous look at food popular on both sides of the border, and the stereotypes that often times (fairly and unfairly) are attributed to taco vendors in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
