SUV left dangling over Gateway East after overnight rollover
A man is in the hospital after his SUV nearly fell over an elevated section of I-10 Monday morning.
The rollover happened just before 2 a.m. on I-10 just before the McRae exit. Police say the SUV may have rolled at least eight times before landing on an elevated embankment just above Gateway East. A portion of the SUV was dangling over the edge of a wall.
Police say the driver was alone, and did not want to be taken to a hospital. Never-the-less, he was taken away in an ambulance for treatment. Police say that alcohol and speed appear to be factors.
