Showers to Leslie Heating Up

Despite having a record of (1-4, 0-2) the UTEP Miners offense has been extremely effective this year. In fact, the Miners offense ranks 46th in country in point scored with 33.4 points per game.

The last two weeks though, have been huge for quarterback Jameill Showers and wide out Jordan Leslie. The two juniors are starting to get in sync with one another.

In their first three games together the Showers-Leslie combo got off to a slow start. Leslie only had 14 catches for 139 yards, with no touchdowns, and an average yards per catch of 9.9.

In the teams last two games the stats have gone way up. In games vs. Colorado State and La. Tech Showers to Leslie has connected for 244 yards on eight catches, with four touchdown’s, and an average yards per catch of 30.5.

Saturday the Miners host Tulsa in the Sun Bowl, and will hope that these two continue connecting on the field for productive results.
