Woman Nearly Drowns In Canal
A woman is in critical condition after she nearly drowns in a canal.
We’re told a group of illegal immigrants were trying to enter the U.S. when the woman was swept away by the canal’s strong water currents.
It happened at about 6 this morning near the Border Highway and Fonseca exit. That’s in the Ascarate Park area.
E-M-S crews were able to get the woman out of the canal and were reportedly performing CPR on her as they were taking her to the hospital.
