UPDATE: Alabama woman killed in rollover crash identified

A rollover accident in Far East El Paso left a woman dead and a male in critical condition, officials said.

Around 8:30 a.m., two people were ejected from a vehicle on Interstate 10 East near the Horizon exit. They taken sent to Del Sol Medical Center.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Public Safety said 32-year-old Sarah Ashley Thrasher was from Columbiana, Ala.

According to DPS, she was not wearing a seat belt and died as a result of her injuries.

The passenger was 24-year-old Dakota Morgan Gray from Silver Springs, Florida. He was not wearing a seat belt either, officials said.

The man is in stable condition with multiple fractures, according to a release from DPS.

Upon the initial investigation, DPS believes the 2004 GMC SUV veered off the interstate and into a center median.

It then appears the female driver over corrected, and flipped the SUV into the right ditch, officials said.

The crash closed the interstate for about six hours.
