Last chance for residents to help name Triple-A baseball team
El Paso baseball fans who want to contribute to the naming of the future Triple-A have until Thursday night to vote.
The list was narrowed down to five names after receiving more than 5,000 suggestions.
They are:
Aardvarks
Buckaroos
Chihuahuas
Desert Gators
Sun Dogs
The public can vote once a day until 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time June 27. Go to http://www.elpasotriplea.com/vote to vote.
The team name will definitely come from the list of finalists, according to the ownership group’s publicist.
Websites associated with the five finalists have were registered this month by Mithoff Burton, the ownership group’s publicist, according to Internet registratino records.
Internet registration records show that elpasopadres.com was registered on June 7, 2012 by Franklin Mountain Management company. Scott Weaver, an officer with MountainStar Sports Group also is an officer with Franklin Mountain Management, according to state records. El Paso Padres did not make the final list of possible names for the team that the public can vote on.
