Relative claims alleged stabber discussed killing his wife
An unidentified relative claimed 38-year-old Charles Moralesconfided with her about killing his wife less than a month before she was found stabbed to death.
Tuesday investigators identified Morales of the 7800 block of Maverick as the person responsible for the death of estranged wife Annette Hernandez and the attempted murder of Adrian Archuleta.
A family member saidMorales and Hernandez had just finalized their divorce when she receiveda call from Morales she’ll never forget.
“He told me that he wanted to kill (Hernandez) and I asked him why. He said, ‘But my daughter hid my knife and I don’t know why,’ And I said, ‘That’s good. Why do you want to kill her? There is no purpose, just let her live her life. You deal with your kids and let her do whatever she’s doing.’ And he goes, ‘Yeah, but if her boyfriend does anything or gets near my daughters or does anything, I’ll kill him. I’ll kill her. I’ll kill him and her,'” recounted the family member who did not want to beidentified due to the violent nature of the crime.
Police say Morales was armed with a knife and was shot and killed by officers after confronting investigators and officers just before 7 a.m. July 29 at his residence. Morales wrote in an Aug. 30, 2012 Facebook post that he was dying.
“… I went to my specialist on the 27thof August and he told me that I only had a couple of months to 2 yrs years because I have 3 tumors growing in the back of my head and they can’t be removed so all I’m asking is to don’t (feel) any pitty (sic) for or feel for either,” Morales wrote.(Editor’s Note: This is how it was posted on his page.)
