Train crashes into truck; Driver may be wanted man

A railroad accident early Saturday morning left a truck in shambles and a wanted man on the run.

El Paso police officers responded around 7 on Saturday morning to reports of a train hitting a truck in northeast El Paso. When officers arrived, they discovered that a cargo train had hit a truck along the 10500 block of Railroad Dr.

The driver of the truck could not be found, but officers did find some identification inside the vehicle that suggests the driver was a man wanted by the U.S. Marshals.

The man is wanted for parole violations, and had originally been arrested for drug possession. His name was not released.

Investigators with El Paso police and the FBI are trying to determine why the suspect was in the desert area, and where he may have fled.
