Car wreck near outlet mall causes street closure for hours
El Paso Police are investigating a fiery car wreck in Northwest El Paso at 2:30 a.m. near the outlet mall at Trans Mountain and South Desert.
South Desert was closed overnight for several hours as police and fire crews worked on the wreck.
According to police scanner transmissions, a woman drove her blue Chrysler off the road into the median and the car went up in flames.
Police radio transmissions also indicated the woman was nowhere to be found when officers arrived.
Employees who worked at a nearby strip club showed told ABC-7’s photographer the car belonged to one of their co-workers, whom they claimed had been drinking last night.
That information has not been confirmed by police.
