“Princess Party” con artist caught

A suspected El Paso con-artist, under investigation since last December, is finally captured.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s have been searching for fugitive Laura Gonzalez, after a woman said Gonzalez stole some her jewelry and other things from her home.

Gonzalez’s record begins in 2009, when she racked up criminal warrants from a fraudulent catering service known as “Once Upon a Time Princess Party”.

Investigators said she’d take money from parents to put on princess-themed birthday parties. But on the day of the event, she wouldn’t show up.

She was charged with deceptive trade practice, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief. Gonzalez bonded out, but then never showed up to her court dates.

Authorities learned of her whereabouts and arrested her last night at a convenience store in central El Paso.
