Fort Bliss soldier killed in hit-and-run

El Paso Police said a Fort Bliss soldier was killed in a hit and run crash Saturday night.

Errol McKinney, 33, was killed on his motorcycle on the 9100 block of Dyer just before 10 p.m.

A Fort Bliss spokesman has confirmed McKinney was a soldier who had returned from deployment in Afghanistan within the past two weeks.

Investigators said a dark colored SUV was driving in the opposite direction of the soldier, but then made a u-turn. That’s when police said the soldier was hit.

Police are asking for your help in catching the driver. They say if you have any information you need to call them right away.
