Northeast El Paso house fire displaces 10 people
At about 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, firefighters were sent to 4932 Maxwell Ave. where they saw flames and heavy smoke coming from a front bedroom window.
About six occupants were inside the home at the time of the fire and were safely self evacuated after being alerted by their smoke alarm.
Firefighters put out the bulk of the fire withink 10 minutes and contained the fire to the bedroom.
The house sustained heavy smoke damage throughout causing a total of 10 occupants (five adults and five children) to be displaced. Red Cross of El Paso is assisting the family at this time. The cause of the fire is undetermined and damages are estimated at $30,000.
No injuries were reported. Seven fire units and 19 firefighters responded to this incident.
