Road conditions may become unsafe overnight. Take extra caution if you run into slippery or even icy roads. You’ll want watch for ice on bridges.

ABC-7 spoke to Texas Department of Transportation earlier and they tell us road crews have been on stand-by since Thursday. They are currently monitoring weather conditions and, if needed, TXDOT is ready to sends crews out starting at 9 Saturday night.

Don’t forget to insulate those exposed pipes you may have at your home. ABC-7 crews just came from a hardware store a little while ago and there are already people buying that pipe insulation.

Don’t forget pets bring them inside and right now is a good time to check on elderly relatives. Make sure they have heat or plenty of blankets to help them stay warm during these freezing temperatures we’ll be seeing overnight.
