Marriage proposal at the El Paso Sun Bowl
It was a personal moment shared by a crowd of nearly 48,000.
Staff sergeant Juan Garcia took the opportunity to surprise his girlfriend Melissa and proposed to her on the scoreboard. She said Yes.
Garcia told ABC-7 he began planning the proposal since Thanksgiving.
“I told my best friend and family and friends and everybody knew but her,” he said.
When asked how he managed to get it on the scoreboard, Garcia said, “One of the other recruiters in the office knew someone and knew someone and it happened.”
A smiling –and very surprised– fiance rested her head on her future husband’s shoulder as thousands cheered for their happiness.
