Simonsen Ends Day Two of NCAA Regionals Tied For 32nd Place

UTEP’s Martin Simonsen is tied for 32nd place with 36 holes in the books at the NCAA San Antonio Regional on Friday at Briggs Ranch Golf Course.

Simonsen did improve his score from round one by a couple of strokes, carding an even-par 72 for a two-day total of 146 (74-72). He has quite a bit of ground to gain in Saturday ‘s final round, standing six strokes behind UCF’s Greg Eason, the top individual who is not on a top-five team (74-66-140).

The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams will advance to the finals, slated for May 23 -28 at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan.

Georgia leads the team race (281-285-566), and TCU’s Julien Brun is tops among individuals (67-67-134).
