Double stabbing victims identified, neighbor reacts

Monday ABC-7 learned more about the two teenagers stabbed outside a far east El Paso house party.

It happened in the 3400 block of Tierra Cobre Sunday morning.

The Socorro Independent School District confirmed 16-year-old Adriana Villegas goes to Americas High School. She’s still in critical condition at a local hospital.

The teen who died was 19-year-old Julian Galvan. He graduated from Americas. ABC-7 spoke with his father today, who says he isn’t ready to speak on camera.

The people who live in the home a neighbor said hosted the party didn’t respond Monday afternoon.

“I woke up at 5 a.m. and I had already seen tape, yellow tape and cops and a couple of teenagers being held right here,” Christopher Carrillo said.

El Paso police say a fight broke out around 2:30 in the morning and ended up in the street. It resulted in Galvan and Villegas being stabbed.

Blood and broken glass still remain at the scene of the crime and neighbors are concerned that this could happen to two teens on their street.

“There’s always parties around but the fact that something had happened here on this street is pretty shocking, something like that,” Carrillo added.

Students outside Americas High School Monday said that Villegas is a sophomore and her close friends call her Adrian. They said she has a lot of friends and her classmates are being respectful about what happened.

Galvan graduated from Americas. His father said he doesn’t have many details about what happened, and he still hasn’t been able to see his son’s body.

The neighbor reacted to the possibility the teens involved may have been drinking.

“If you can’t control it, don’t use it. They shouldn’t be allowed. That’s why it’s 21 and over,” Carrillo said.

Police still have not made any arrests in the case. Anyone with information about a possible suspect is asked to call 915-566-8477(TIPS) .
