UTEP women’s basketball makes WNIT championship

The University of Texas at El Paso women’s basketball team won Wednesday night against South Dakota State University in a final four game, with a score of 66-63.

That means they’ll be hosting the championship game Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Don Haskins Center against Rutgers University.

Fans started lining up at the ticket booth outside of the arena before the final buzzer rang.

This is the first Women’s National Invitation Tournament UTEP has ever played in. The “Don” was literally packed Wednesday. It was a sold out game against SDSU, with 12,222 tickets that were all gone early Wednesday morning.
