Thousands were left without power early Friday morning

Thousands of residents from west El Paso, Sunland Park, and Las Cruces were left without power early Friday morning.

El Paso Electric reported that about 2,500 customers were affected.

The outage was reported around 1:30 a.m.

West El Paso, Sunland Park, and Las Cruces saw the strongest of the rain Friday morning.
