Phone tip leads to arrest of 2 and confiscation of 24 lbs of marijuana

A tip sent to the TIP411 line on Friday, July 31 resulted in the arrest of two people and confiscation of 24 pounds of marijuana.

El Paso Police detectives contacted Mark Haygood, of the 3000 block of Gilberto Avila, as he crove a white Ford Expedition Friday night.

Investigators allegedly found 3.75 ounces of marijuana in the vehicle and before investigating the residence on Gilberto Avila.

Police allegedly found more than 20 pounds of marijuana in different areas of the home along with Savannah Nichols.

They both were placed under arrest and charged with the Possession of Marijuana. Haygood (Bond $30,000.00) and Nichols (Bond $20,000.00) were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on the charge of Possession of Marijuana Over 5 pounds – Under 50 pounds of Marijuana.
