Woman stabbed, killed in lower valley

Police arrested an El Paso man Saturday morning and charged him with Murder after he allegedly stabbed his wife to death.

Officers responded to a stabbing call at a home in the 300 block of Pasodale Saturday morning. When they arrived, police found 66-year old Maria Duarte dead from stab wounds inside the house.

Investigators also found the woman’s husband , 74-year old Isaac Duarte, inside the home with self inflicted stab wounds. Medics took him to a local hospital for treatment, then police arrested and charged him with murder.

Maria Duarte’s daughter told ABC-7 there was a lot of arguing between her parents, but she said she never thought it would lead to the death of her mother.

He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $200,000.00 bond.
