Greater El Paso Landfill closes due to high winds, low visibility

The Greater El Paso Landfill, located at 2300 Darrington Rd., will be closed to the
public effective immediately due to the high winds and low visibility.

The closure was made to ensure the safety of customers and employees. The Citizen Collection Stations or drop-off sites will remain open if weather permits.

However, the public is encouraged to refrain from dropping off any trash.

The landfill will resume normal operating hours on Thursday, May 1, 2014
should weather permit. The Greater El Paso Landfill is normally open from
7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
