Interest form opens for Project Jupiter data center monitoring committee

KVIA

SANTA TERESA, N.M. (KVIA) -- Friday, Doña Ana County said it's accepting interest forms from community members that want to serve on a committee related to the Project Jupiter data center.

The Community Monitoring Committee will consist of 11 members, the county said. It breaks down to:

  • Two representatives from each County Commission district
  • One member from the district represented by Commission Chair Manuel Sanchez

The form will close Aug. 31. County Commissioners will look at the submissions and appoint official members.

Service on the committee is voluntary, according to the county. Members have to disclose any financial interest, employment or other affiliation related to any entity associated with Project Jupiter -- either in support or in opposition to the project.

The Doña Ana Board of County Commissioners approved the committee during its meeting Tuesday.

Project Jupiter is currently under construction in Santa Teresa, New Mexico.

The interest form must be emailed to karrinec@donaana.gov by Aug. 31.
