Texas Unveils $138 Billion 10-Year Transportation Plan: What It Means for El Paso

El Paso, TX (KVIA-TV)-This week, Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Department of Transportation announced a new 10-year transportation plan with a projected total investment of $138 billion.

I-10 Widening West Phase 2

Monday, Aug. 31

9 p.m. – 6 a.m.

• South Desert at Transmountain full closure

Detour: Traffic to use Spur 16 to Isela Rubalcava.

Crews will be working on asphalt placement patch repair.

Loop 375 Rehabilitation Project

Sunday, Aug. 30 – Thursday, Sept. 3

8 p.m. - 6 a.m. (Nightly)

• Loop 375 (Border Highway) west and eastbound between Fonseca and Oregon alternating lanes
• Loop 375 (Border Highway) westbound off-ramp to Paisano (Exit 20) full closure
• Loop 375 (Border Highway) westbound off-ramp to US-54 North and I-10 West one lane closure

Crews will be working on rip rap and guardrail.

Monday, Aug. 31 – Tuesday. Sept. 1

Daily, 6 a.m. – 8 p.m.

• Loop 375 (Border Highway) westbound exit ramp to Paisano (exit 20) full closure
• Loop 375 (Border Highway) westbound exit ramp to US-54 East and I-10 West one lane closure

Crews will be working on guardrail.

• Montana Avenue westbound left lane closure between Saul Kleinfeld Drive to Tierra Este Road

Crews will be working on the new bridge on Joe Battle Boulevard

• Montana Avenue eastbound closure from Leticia Street to Joe Battle Boulevard
• The northbound to southbound U-turn along Joe Battle Boulevard will be closed.

Crews will be placing Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement (CRCP).

Horizon/Darrington Reconstruction Project

• Horizon Boulevard east- and westbound alternating lane closures between Horizon Crossing Street, Thea Smith Drive, and Rodman Street
• Darrington Road north- and southbound alternating lane closures between Kingston Road and Nunda Drive

• Darrington Road northbound traffic switch from Pete La Rue Circle to Roslyn Drive
• Northbound access to Pete La Rue Circle, U-Turn on Darrington at the intersection of Roslyn and Alderwood Manor Drive
