Burned body found in home
One person is dead in an overnight fire.
It happened at an apartment house at 191 N. Awbrey in south-central El Paso, around midnight.
Fire officials tell ABC-7 firefighters put out the flames shortly after it broke out.
The owner of the apartment found a burned body inside the apartment when he stopped by later in the day to clean up the property.
The man who found the body believes it was a homeless man in his early 60s who was known as “Lalo.”
Crimes Against Persons detectives are assisting firefighters with an investigation into the person’s cause of death.
Fire department investigators are also looking into what started the fire.
