Sheriff’s Office investigates early morning stabbing at Transmountain overlook

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Sheriff's Office (EPCSO) has confirmed to ABC-7 that the department is investigating a stabbing on Transmountain, leaving one person with injuries.

A spokeswoman for EPCSO says deputies responded to the Saturday morning on Transmountain near a picnic area to investigate a "delayed" report of a stabbing that occurred.

According to officials, a victim with stab wounds had arrived at a local hospital and reported that the stabbing had occurred on Transmountain.

The spokeswoman told ABC-7 that units from the Sheriff's Office were sent out to the area where they collected evidence and have since cleared the scene.

Officials say the victim has also been released from the hospital and did not sustain any major injuries.

The Sheriff's Office did not say if any arrests were made as a result of the stabbing.
