ABC-7 StormTrack Weather: Above average temps, with rising storm chance

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Expect another hot afternoon with a stronger round of storm potential tonight!

This morning we woke to temps in the upper 70s. By midafternoon expect highs in the upper 90s. El Paso is expected to reach a high of 97, Las Cruces 95. These temps although shy of the triple digit mark, are still trending above average.

Today storm chances rise to 20-30% with risk for some lighting and strong gusty outflow winds. Rain potential looks strongest mid afternoon into your early evening and overnight hours.
