SISD says no evidence of sex assault at elementary school

Investigators say a boy with autism was not raped at H.D. Hilley Elementary School in early 2014.

Socorro Independent School District officials tell ABC-7 there is no physical evidence or witness testimony to prove it happened. The Socorro City Police Dept. is also closing its investigation.

The boy’s parents and others protested outside the school, demanding answers last February.

District officials say they spent $10,000 for two different independent companies to investigate. That came after the nine-year-old’s parents alleged the district initially failed to respond to their suspicions and concerns.

The parents said an examination conducted at El Paso Children’s Hospital concluded the boy had been sexually assaulted.
