Police say the men stole an estimated $35,000 of equipment. Investigators in Las Cruces need your help solving this crime and are now doubling the reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the burglars.

Detectives say two men broke into the construction site and gained access to a Polaris all-terrain vehicle they allegedly used it to steal a Bobcat welder mounted on a trailer, and other construction-related equipment. Las Cruces Crime Stoppers and Wooten construction are offering a $2,000 reward.

Dan Trujillo, the Las Cruces Police Dept. Spokesman tells our New Mexico Mobile Newsroom “it could have been somebody who figured on a Sunday morning people wouldn’t be around neighbors thought it must be people working out there”

Police believe one of the men left the construction site driving the red Polaris ATV pulling the trailer-mounted welder. Anyone with information is asked to call Las Cruces crime stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
