Dona Ana County recovering after suicide attempt

A woman reportedly tried to kill herself by jumping from the second floor of the Dona Ana County jail Wednesday.

A jail spokesperson says Laura Del Hierro (24) jumped from the railing in a cell block and landed headfirst on the concrete below. She is now in stable condition at UMC in El Paso.

She was in jail for allegedly stabbing her younger sister.
