Prisoner transport van crashes in Las Cruces; Seven injured
Seven people, including four prisoners, were injured when a vehicle crashed into their transport van, according to Las Cruces police.
The crash happened at 11:15 Tuesday morning at North Main street and Solano/3 Crosses in Las Cruces.
Las Cruces police say the U.S. Prisoner transport van was taking prisoners from the Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility to various locations.
The van was traveling eastbound on North Main street when a white car turned in front of it.
Two transport officers and four prisoners were taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
A passenger in the white car was also taken to the hospital as a precaution.
